We’ve been doing a lot of silver lining searching lately and we’re grateful that the burning question of “Is Cannabis Essential?” has been answered positively by officials across the nation —- YES! Dispensaries ARE essential businesses and cannabis IS a necessary product. Thankfully we are still open and able to serve our community, yet our process has changed. Please read below for our curbside pickup guidelines:
Times are strange. We are seeing friends and family only through Facetime, washing our hands a thousand times a day, stockpiling toilet paper and filling our pantries with a lifetime supply of canned beans. Air hugs and six foot distances are the norm, and we’re spending an awful lot more time at home. Like, a lot. So your favorite Santa Rosa Dispensary, Flora Terra, has compiled a “Shelter in Place Enjoyment Guide” for you to stay uplifted from the comfort of your couch.
Movies
Who else spends a frustrating amount of time searching Netflix/Amazon/HBO/Hulu/Cable for something to watch? Frittering away, flipping through titles for what seems like days. Just for you, Flora Terra’s staff has collectively wasted countless hours clicking around to compile this list of our favorite cannabis-related films. Quarantine and chill with these dope flicks:
Podcasts
Listening to the voices of others might feel like a lifesaver in this sea of social isolation. Pair connection and information with these ‘elevated’ podcasts. What’s in our earbuds:
- Leafly offers a weekly roundtable about the latest news – banter mixed with the facts. The latest: Leafly’s Brooklyn correspondent shares personal insight as he fights the virus.
- Wine, Women, & Weed examines every angle of the cannabis industry through enlightening discussions with experts and forerunners in “world of weed”. Host Jacq Court gives you the “dope on dope” every week.
- Broccoli Talk: A Podcast for Cannabis Lovers Co-hosts Lauren Yoshiko and Mennlay Golokeh Aggrey create a vibe that makes it feel like you’ve known them since grade school. Candid and refreshing, our favorite episode is the hilarious Weed Dealer Diaries.
- Weed + Grub Grab a joint and join Emmy-nominated comedian Mike Glazer and cannabis culture writer Mary Jane Gibson as they light up, eat munchies and chat about cannabis, culture, comedy, cooking and sex.
YouTube
When we tire of the boob tube, we scroll through YouTube. Open the app with a purpose and check out these channels:
- Brandi TV is a “marijuana friendly makeup/comedy channel” with new videos posted often. Often doing makeovers after eating edibles, we absolutely love her.
- Cut is “for everyone” and has quite a collection of comical episodes. Storytellers with a sense of humor, head straight to Teachers Guess Who’s High and Grandpa’s Smoking Weed for the First Time.
Mindfulness
Whether you’re looking for meditation activities or help catching enough zzz’s, these apps will soothe you:
- Headspace will guide you through calming visualizations, assisting with focus, breathwork and the ability to stay calm in any situation. Led by a former monk, Headspace sets the stage for more mindfulness and a better night’s sleep. Download, sit back and relax.
- Calm promises to boost confidence and reduce anxiety through soothing music and bedtime stories. Recommended by top psychologists and a leading app for lowering stress, ease into the day and reset with Calm.
- Day One is the encouragement you need to make journaling a habit. An attractive interface that offers a completely private digital space, tell your story to this award-winning app.
Movement
Figuring out how to function while barely leaving the house, we’ve had to get creative when it comes to exercise. Turning our living room into a workout space, we’ve been moving with:
- Dance Church is livestreaming their inclusive dance parties for free and bringing joy to households across the world. Sign up and let loose, Sunday’s at 10am PST and Wednesday’s at 5pm PST.
- Break a sweat while social distancing with Barry’s Bootcamp “Barry’s at Home” 20-minute equipment-free workouts posted daily on their Instagram.
- While studios are closed, fitness app Down Dog is offering their entire suite of programs – Down Dog, Yoga for Beginners, HIIT, Barre, and 7 Minute Workout – for free through May 1st.
- Local studio Three Dog Yoga has moved their community online and is now offering Live Stream Memberships.
Medicate
For us, cannabis consumption is central to our daily rituals and we feel the need to ‘chill out’ now more than ever. With puff-puff-passing to friends put on pause, we’re facetiming our hits, skyping our joint sessions, noshing on edibles, and sharing vape pen rips through Zoom. The plant provides us with relief. What were partaking in:
- Care by Design 1:1 Vape Pen Cartridges offer a balanced high perfect for watching movies or zoning out with a good book. Flora Terra carries several Care by Design half gram cartridges of various CBD to THC ratios, so you can find the right blend to suit your personal preference.
- Garden Society Indica Chocolates hit the spot when it comes to getting cozy. Nibble on half a dose of the edible (to start), curl up with a blanket and get ready for a restful sleep.
- Relieve anxiety and find more pleasure in your day with Kikoko Sympa-Tea. Low in THC and great for pain management, a steaming cup of Sympa-Tea also contains anti-inflammatories and superfoods like tumeric, ginger, orange peel, star anise and cinnamon. Stay calm and feel good with top-shelf, organically grown Kikoko tea.
- Can’t decide what to order for curbside pick-up? We’ve got extra time on our hands — so try them all!
